Founder & Managing Director

ar. jean-kye lee

Hailing from The Federal Institute of Technology of Malaysia, Ar. Lee Jean-Kye then graduated with a degree in architecture at University of Liverpool in 2000. Throughout his architectural training, he has received several awards and scholarships, including the RIBA President’s Bronze Medal for his final year project.


Prior to founding Urban Catalyst, Jean formed a design & built company in 2007 where he further developed a broader knowledge of the construction industry. With experience from various practices and ranging from mass housing, commercial developments, professional architectural consultancy, to project management and value engineering.

Director

ar. koh sheh ren

Sheh-Ren received her architectural education in University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She obtained her APAM membership in 2007. Worked her way up to Director in 2011 following eleven years of architectural experience with C’arch architecture & Design sb. She has worked on a variety of projects from factories, retail, offices, master planning, strata landed houses, low and high-rise residential of medium and luxury nature. In 2017, she left C’arch and the developer scene to have a bit more time for the family and scaled down her projects to interior and bungalow jobs. Following that, she joined Urban Catalyst in 2021. Sheh-Ren has led project teams on several notable works including award-winning
jobs.

Partnering Director

ar. JASON CHANG SEK PUNN

Jason graduated from University Teknologi Malaysia with Bachelor of Architecture (Hons) in year 2001. He worked briefly for 2 years in CPG Consultants Pte Ltd in Singapore before returning to Malaysia where he joined ARC Partnership in 2003. Since then, he had worked on and completed projects of diverse nature from highrise apartments (The Potpourri, Irama Wangsa) to industrial and commercial office buildings (PJ City Office Buildings). In 2018, The Potpourri was awarded Silver PAM Award for multiple residential highrise building. Ar Jason Chang left ARC Partnership in 2024 to pursue his own direction in Architecture and formed UCJ Architects in partnership with Lee Jean-Kye and Koh Sheh-Ren.
